Peer Intelligence is your Workplace Superpower

ASK. CHALLENGE. BUILD.

What is OCCUPIERWORLD®?

OCCUPIERWORLD® is a practitioner-led global network for in-house property, workplace and facilities professionals. Independent by design, it offers a trusted platform where members can share operational success stories, explore collaboration opportunities and tap into the collective intelligence of their peers worldwide.

Our vision is to give a fragmented global corporate real estate community the social infrastructure it needs to collaborate more openly, build on each other's ideas and turn shared insight into collective intelligence.

Join the community and connect with like-minded peers worldwide.

Who runs OCCUPIERWORLD®?

OCCUPIERWORLD® is run by a small team of volunteer administrators and moderators.

When was OCCUPIERWORLD® launched?

OCCUPIERWORLD® was launched during the pandemic to promote cross-functional peer collaboration on common operational workplace challenges.

We're currently upgrading the platform to enable occupiers to co-create prompts & playbooks together, across the full corporate real estate life cycle.

What is the mission of OCCUPIERWORLD®?

The mission has not changed since day one: give a fragmented global community the infrastructure it needs to build on each other's ideas.

What makes this community valuable?

OCCUPIERWORLD® empowers a fragmented and geographically dispersed global community of corporate occupiers to build on each other's thinking and unlock the boundless potential of their collective expertise.

Whilst professional associations serve the broader market, the intelligence most needed is real-world insight, i.e. what's been tried, what actually worked, where performance fell short and what peers would do differently next time. These kinds of peer-level learnings have always been the hardest to access, yet are often the most actionable.

How the Community Works and how to get the most from it

Spotlight: where thought leadership gets smarter

Spotlight is where peers share, rate and debate the articles shaping the occupier world. Found something worth reading? Share it. Spotted something worth challenging? Say so. Every article shared ensures no good idea stays unexamined and no great article left undiscovered.

Forum Channels: where the conversation starts

Post a question. Share an insight. Explore an idea. Our open forum channels put the ASK. CHALLENGE. BUILD. ethos into practice, creating the common space where networking, serendipity and peer exchange turn community thinking into shared intelligence.

Publish: where occupiers think big

Publish is where peers share their own thinking on the forces reshaping the occupier world. Looking to challenge occupier minds to think bigger, deeper and more openly? Publish it. Ideas shape everything and our platform is built for the practitioners who want to think big.

Directory: where peers share resources worth finding

The Occupier's Guide is a peer-curated directory of the go-to resources, tools and references shaping the occupier world. Found something worth bookmarking? Add it. Discovered something worth rating? Say so. No good resource goes undiscovered when peers explore together.

Community hashtags: to tag or not to tag

Adding a tag connects your question, insight or idea to a topic, improving discoverability for every member, now and in the future. You can add multiple tags to any post or entry by selecting from our topic list. The more accurately you tag, the further your thinking travels.

Moderators are tasked with keeping tags focused and searchable. If a topic you need isn't there, send a suggestion to a moderator who will be happy to action new suggestions as the community grows.

Account Settings, Membership Levels and Creativity Quests

Community Members: collaborators and occupiers

Anyone can become a collaborator by simply singing-in and joining the Occupier World® community which brings together public collaborators, recognised client-side occupier teams and community moderators. All members can contribute to the collective creativity of the community, with recognition on leaderboards and trophies given to those actively sharing insight, starting conversations and building practical knowledge others can use.

Community Leaderboards: showcasing expertise and contributions

Leaderboards showcase your expertise and contributions, with recognition given to top community contributions who are actively shaping the community, measured by submissions, responses and community member ratings. Find them under your profile activity feed. The more you ask, challenge and build, the further you rise.

Quests are designed to encourage participation with badges awarded based on conversations started, valuable thinking shared and ideas challenged.

Practitioners holding the Playbook Badge are invited take a more active role, collaborating on our pilot to develop a peer-built operating system for corporate real estate teams.

Estate Directory: find your peers

Occupier Members who add portfolio locations to their profile are invited to trial our building-based messaging tools. Your Estate Directory is how OCCUPIERWORLD® connects you with other occupier representatives sitting in the same building, anywhere in the world. To add locations, simply click on your user name on the top right of the screen, select 'Estate Directory' and upload your locations using our simple csv spreadsheet template. Direct Messaging and Location-Based Asset Messaging are limited to Occupier Members only.

Messaging Building: what's next?

What comes next is the ability to message your peers based on common asset locations, building by building, street by street, anywhere in the world.

Right now, most in-house teams only see a fraction of the market. Broker-led searches typically surface only the actively marketed stock, often just 4-5% of total inventory in any given city. The remaining 95% is occupied and effectively invisible.

We believe a common building-level messaging tool will open up new portfolio collaboration possibilities by empowering occupiers to tap into the hidden 95%, collaborate with peers in the same buildings and directly surface off-market opportunities.

Prompt Playbook Quests: redesigning CRE for an AI-native world

The Prompt Playbook is a community-authored library of AI prompts, workflows and operating checklist built by and for corporate occupiers. Membership is invite only.
