CONNECTED
INTELLIGENCE

In a hyper-connected world, it's critical to be open, allow the crowd to help you innovate and build on each other's ideas. The most valuable intelligence in CRE is the experience of peers who've already faced your challenge.
CHALLENGE IDEAS

NETWORKED
THINKING

Ideas breed in networks of other ideas. Larger the network, larger the increase in innovation potential. Is it time to put your thinking in front of the crowd best placed to improve it?

In a tech-driven revolution, open collaboration and collective discovery are keys to accelerating pace of change. When occupiers solve problems together every solution compounds, transforming what's possible for the whole community.

About Occupierworld

What is OCCUPIERWORLD®?

OCCUPIERWORLD® is a professional network and peer-intelligence community designed exclusively for in-house property, workplace and facilities practitioners driven by curiosity and continuous improvement. Free from third-party influence, it provides a forum for members to exchange challenges, test ideas and collaborate with equals. At its core is a centralised digital platform that facilitates peer-to-peer dialogue, reduces the fragmentation typical of geographically dispersed functions and encourages collective problem-solving. In doing so, it cultivates a shared sense of purpose and strengthens professional cohesion across the occupier community.

Who runs it?

OCCUPIERWORLD® is run by a small team of volunteer administrators and moderators.

When was it created?

OCCUPIERWORLD® was originally created during the pandemic to promote peer collaboration on common operational workplace challenges.

The platform is currently being upgraded to help members harness the collaborative effort of an entire community dedicated to openly exchanging ideas and co-creating prompts & playbooks together across the full corporate real estate life cycle.

What is in it for me?

Whilst professional associations serve the broader market, the intelligence most needed — what has been tried, what worked, where performance fell short and what peers would do differently — has always been the hardest to find.

OCCUPIERWORLD® empowers a fragmented and geographically dispersed global community of corporate occupiers to build on each other's thinking and unlock the boundless potential of their collective expertise.

What is the mission?

The mission has not changed since day one: give a fragmented global community the infrastructure it needs to build on each other's ideas.

What is next?

What comes next is the ability to directly message corporate occupiers within individual buildings, or even along specific streets, anywhere in the world.

For in-house teams, this represents a meaningful shift in how we access the market. Traditional broker-led searches typically expose only the actively marketed stock, which in most cities accounts for no more than 4-5% of total inventory. The vast majority — over 95% — remains tied up in occupied space and largely out of reach.

Direct, building-level engagement opens up that hidden layer of the market. It creates a new channel to connect with occupiers in situ, surface off-market opportunities and promote collaboration strategies with peers in multi-occupied assets.

Joining & Membership

How do I join?

Occupierworld® is free to join. There is no paywall. If you are passionate about corporate real estate performance from an occupier's perspective, simply sign-in via LinkedIn and explore an occupier world moderated and enriched by an exclusive peer-to-peer community.

Occupier memberships will be granted to those accountable for real estate outcomes and willing to challenge conventional thinking in one of our open 'forums'.

What does it cost?

No paywall. No vendor. Just occupiers connecting, challenging and building on each other's ideas.

Why sign-up with LInked-In?

To help authenticate peers and build a trusted platform we ask new users to sign-up via Linked-In. We use gamification badges across our site to indicate user engagement, activities and skill. Active members of the Occupierworld Community who are also client-side will automatically be converted to Occupier Membership and granted acess to additional, premium features.

How to edit profile, account setting and estate directory?

Simply click on your name at the top of the page and select either 'Edit Profile', 'Account Settings' or 'My Estate Directory'. Only 'Occupier Members' can change thier display name and add portfolio locations which are used to support geofenced portfolio messaging tools. Note our Direct Messaging and Asset Messaging tools are only available for Occupier Members.

Getting Started

What is 'Articles Link'?

Discover what your peers are reading, share thought leadership discoveries and turn individual knowledge into shared intelligence by rating and discussing articles together.

What are Forum Channels?

Also known as discussion threads, our open forum channels are designed for networking and serendipity, providing a simple way for distributed peers to post challenges, share insights and explore new ideas with their community.

What are the 'Market Maker' clubs?

Market Maker clubs are trusted peer-only communities where you know everyone in the room is on the same side of the table. Each club is moderated by a local peer member with the aim of bringing peer-to-peer communities together in one place and creating an exchange where members can crowdsource ideas across peers with aligned interests in common markets and get the answers or inspiration needed.

How do I engage in discussions with peers?

Our forums are community-driven which means all contributions are provided by our members. In order to crowd-sourced insights, smply post your own Q&A open-text thread or poll and start connecting and networking. The best questions are thought-provoking and easy to understand. The best answers provide a comprehensive and trustworthy resource for everyone interested in the occupier world.

What does it mean to tag a post?

Adding a tag is an easy way to make a connect specific topic and makes your post visible to all members searching for the same topic. You can add tags to any post or entry by entering keywords and selecting tags from a wide range of existing topics. Every post can have numerous tags. Categorising contributions help time-pressured community members find the content that most interests them.

Can I create new tag descriptions?

Users cannot create new tags at this moment, however you can send a feedback message to a moderator with new suggestions if you need to expand the tag list.
