The Centre for Conscious Design

The Centre for Conscious Design is an international grassroots think tank focused on using conscious design to alleviate complex social and urban issues today and in the future. Our mission is to reconceptualize design and push towards a ‘conscious’ model that responds to the needs of the people and communities. To us, Conscious Design is a continually metamorphosing process, which is fed equally by social systems and structures, science, storytelling, and participatory-design. By focusing on process, we believe that design can effectively address the future aspirations of urban populations. We strive to create environments that maximize individual and community potential while integrating equity, wellbeing, and resilience into the fabric of everyday life. To do this, we focus on 5 key Pillars: I. Explore the person(s)-space relationship II. Cultivate networks of interdisciplinary experts passionate about conscious design III. Create resources and events that support conscious design IV. Advocate & facilitate conscious design in decision making V. Lead foresight into the development of Conscious Design
